Thesis Statement

The United States was not justified in dropping the atomic bombs on Japan because 149,558 innocent people died and 25,000 people were injured, it cost the United States billions of dollars, and left Hiroshima and Nagasaki radioactive until this day.

Summary: We believe that the dropping of the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima was unjustified for many reasons. Even though we were in a war with Japan there was no reason to kill thousands of innocent civilians that were not actively involved. The United States could have used the billions of dollars spent on the atomic bombs on something more beneficial to our country.  Because the United States dropped the bombs, Japan is still recovering from the nuclear fallout to this day. Recent studies have found traces of radiation in the soil.
